I was tasked by Andy Walmsley to fully draft and 3D model his scenic design based off of his SketchUp Model and video talk through. During the design and shop build process, I then coordinated all updates to the scenic package with inputs from the Lighting, Shop, Rigging, Truss Orders, and Video Departments, so all Dick Clark Production departments were on the same page.
I had 1 week to put the 1st version package together, and get it approved and sent to shops for bidding. Andy ended up having to shave off about 300k from the bid to come in on budget. After this was settled on, I had 3 days to redo the package and get it out to the winning shop. Drawing plates show mostly the 2nd version, with a ground-plan and VWs Render plates of the original version to show the speed of scaling and simplifying it down that was needed. To Andy's credit, the 2nd version was not to visibly different from the original.
